Saturday, the morning after

By Cindy Luis on August 29, 2015

Good morning. The reason the blog was closed last night despite some really good observations and discussions: I was unable to monitor it while writing the story for the print edition and some took advantage of the moderator’s absence to attack players and coaches using inappropriate language. Felt that was my only option overnight so sorry that many had to be penalized because of a few. Will be gone for a couple of hours but will leave this thread open […]

Wichita St 3, Oregon St 0; Big West scores

By Cindy Luis on August 28, 2015

Very much looking forward to this season which I believe will be a good one. Will be back on after getting to the arena and will get info on how Mitchem’s situation. Just to clear something up about her paperwork. A lot of entities involved with this and the delay isn’t due because of just one of them. Transferring is complicated enough and was not helped by summer school session that ran so close to UH’s starting date. Some other […]

Obviously overlooked (No. 12 on Wednesday posts). Not that I was testing you … No official release from UH regarding it other than to say during practice that […]

Former Warrior Joshua Walker was officially hired as the new Warriors assistant, replacing Spencer McLachlin, who is on the AVP tour. We’ll have a video up on HawaiiWarriorWorld later this evening. He has signed the paperwork. Don’t know when UH will make official announcement. Both Wade and Zarkovic are very pleased with the hire. Walker has pretty much retired from pro ball. Staying in Hawaii with wife and four-month old daughter. Happy to be back and able to give back […]

Recap of Shoji on BC; Higgins, Manu-Olevao captains

By Cindy Luis on August 25, 2015

Team has a late practice (4-7) today, think in consideration of those who have afternoon labs. See recap of Shoji from Bobby Curran’s show at bottom. updated at 7 p.m. Team voted for Manu-Olevao and Higgins as captains. Also today Shoji said there would be a decision about Manu-Olevao in regards to playing or not playing on Sundays. Probably won’t be in the form of an official ‘release’ from the SID but you never know. Might just be Shoji telling […]
