The Hawaii soccer team opens its season in challenging fashion tonight against No. 11 Texas A&M in the Outrigger Soccer Kickoff. The Sydney Kings prevented the Hawaii men’s basketball team from breaking even in its final game of the Down Under tour. UH trailed by nine at halftime, cut it to four points after three quarters, but gave up a 12-0 run in the fourth as the Kings won going away, 82-65, Friday night at Abottsleigh College (Thursday night in Hawaii), leaving UH to finish 1-3 on its foreign expedition. UH, UCLA to meet in 3-game football series

The University of Hawaii and UCLA football teams have reached agreement to play each other in a three-game series beginning in 2020, the schools announced today. The Rainbow Warriors and Bruins will meet at Aloha Stadium on Sept. 5, 2020. The next two meetings will be at the Rose Bowl — on Aug. 28, 2021 and Sept 18, 2027. During a team meeting yesterday, K.K. Padello gave a slide-show presentation on his work on the Big Island as a member of the Hawaii Army National Guard. A picture appeared of his brother, defensive end Kaimana Padello, followed by joyful applause and cheering. It’s here. On the heels of UCLA announcing that UH will play at Pauley Pavilion this season, UH was compelled to release its entire 2018-19 men’s basketball schedule. Warrior Beat: Warriors add Moore

After a slight delay, offensive tackle Ernest Moore has joined the Warriors. Moore needed to complete two summer classes at City College of San Francisco to earn an associate’s degree and finalize his transfer to UH. Moore has gone through the orientation phase — no-padded practices — and is expected to be cleared for full participation as early as tomorrow.
