Warrior Beat: The day after

By Stephen Tsai on September 16, 2018

NEW YORK >> The sun came up today. (Well, this being perpetually overcast NYC, you’ll have to take our word on that.) The point is, the Warriors are 3-1 when most of you — yes, we’re looking at you — had only hoped they would be 2-2. So here’s the rose-colored view: > You’re trying to exit an airplane. You’re behind a person pulling a roller bag. He stops. Your shins get hit. He moves, then stops, then hits your shins […]

UH falls at West Point

By Warrior World on September 15, 2018

There would be no “Miracle by the Hudson” this time for Hawaii. UH’s bid for a late comeback at Army, like the one it pulled off in its only previous visit to West Point in 2010, came up just short in a 28-21 loss to the Black Knights on Saturday. The Rainbow Warriors’ first loss of the season put them at 3-1, while Army improved to 2-1. Army recorded its first win in the series, which now stands at 3-1 […]

As Hawaii prepares to face Army today at Michie Stadium, it’s a good time to take a look back at the Rainbow Warriors’ only trip to West Point to date. That Sept. 11, 2010, meeting sure left some lasting memories. Warrior Beat: Garden State of mind

By Stephen Tsai on September 13, 2018

PARK RIDGE, N.J. >> Another Thursday — even on the East Coast — meant another light practice for the Warriors. The Warriors, wearing plain green dry-fit shirts and no helmets, went through plays and sets during the 90-minute session at Saint Joseph’s Regional High School in New Jersey. They will have a more extensive practice tomorrow ahead of Saturday’s game against Army.
