By Stephen Tsai on March 28, 2019

Reserve guards Leland Green and Brandon Thomas are leaving the UH basketball team. Both players requested — and received — releases from their scholarships, then entered the NCAA portal, a list of available transfer players that is circulated to all NCAA programs. This recently completed season, he averaged 8.3 minutes and 2.6 points in 27 […]

Last spring, Umiamaka, a Castle High graduate, announced he would be joining the Warriors as a walk-on. But, again, there was not enough space on the […]

Warrior Beat: Finish to start

By Stephen Tsai on March 22, 2019

Baseball coach Mike Trapasso has a unique dilemma: His best pitcher is his best starter and best reliever. His solution is to try to use Dylan Thomas in a closer’s role in the first two games of a series. If situations dictate that Thomas does not appear in those two games, he starts in the third. And that’s why Thomas will start in Saturday’s third game of the four-game series against Ohio State. The Rainbow Warriors dropped the first two […]

By Brian McInnis on March 21, 2019

Kick back, relax and take in one of the best sports days of the year today. Heck, do it again tomorrow, and through the rest of March as the madness unfolds. When you do, consider this: It’s already been three years since the Hawaii men’s basketball team enjoyed its finest hour on the national stage, upsetting No. 4 seed California in the NCAA Tournament first round in Spokane, Wash. Roderick Bobbitt, Stefan Jankovic and Aaron Valdes, and a host of […]
