Cindy Luis covers University of Hawaii volleyball for the Star-Advertiser. She began her career as a sports journalist in Hawaii in 1981 with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and was the sports editor, assistant sports editor, columnist and beat writer during a 31-year span before the paper became the Star-Advertiser. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a B.A. in Communication Studies.

Hawaii’s women’s volleyball RPI dropped one place to 12 this morning. _____ In today’s AVCA Top 25, Hawaii stayed at 18. The top four stay the same: 1. Texas (51 first-place votes), 2. Hawaii men’s volleyball: Rainbow Warriors release 2020 schedule

Like most teams, the Hawaii men’s volleyball team has had problems filling its allotted 28 dates. The Rainbow Warriors have 29 matches, including two exhibitions with Nittaidai of Japan. Hawaii has signed a second Rainbow Wahine volleyball player. She is 6-3 middle Anna Kiraly from Hungary, the first Wahine ever from that country. She helped lead her Godolloi Roplabda Club team to the Central Hungarian Regional Championship 1st place in 2017; U21 Hungarian Championship 2nd place in 2019; and the U19 Hungarian Championship 3rd place in 2017,’19.
