Because of hiring policies, spring break and other factors, the Warriors become one of the last schools to open spring training with today’s first of 15 practices. This could be a good thing. The five new hires were able to get acclimated; injured players had more time to heal. Every year there’s a QB battle. Joey Iosefa returned to Honolulu this morning with one thing on his mind: “It’s time to go back to work,” Iosefa said. Iosefa left nearly three weeks ago to participate in UH’s pro day in San Diego. The Cincinnati Bengals sent three representatives, including running back coach Kyle Caskey, to personally work out Iosefa. The Green Bay Packers also praised Iosefa’s pro-day workout. For the volleyball Warriors, an extended road trip would not be complete without a barbecue. Today, graduate assistant Jarrod Lofy’s parents are hosting a barbecue for the Warriors and their families in Long Beach. The Warriors have some downtime today because the WNIT game will delay their practice in Pauley Pavilion until 7:30 tonight.
