Former UH linebackers Julian Gener and Lance Williams are setting their pro aspirations to the north. Gener was invited to a tryout with the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday in Oakland. Williams, who participated in the BC Lions’ mini-combine this past weekend in Seattle, is awaiting word on whether he will be invited to training camp. “Hopefully, it all turns out well,” Gener said. There was little known about what Tigi Hill did the past few years, but one thing is certain about this week: He will be auditioning with the Indianapolis Colts. Hill, who twice signed with UH but never joined the team, has secured a free-agent tryout with the Colts. When Nick Rolovich was Nevada’s offensive coordinator, one of his recruiting areas was Utah. There are five Utah residents on the Wolf Pack’s spring roster. Rolovich is continuing the Hawaii-Utah pipeline that the Warriors re-established in 2012. Quarterbacks coach Craig Stutzmann, who was at Weber State for two seasons, is the Warriors’ point recruiter in Utah. Utah is an attractive recruiting area for UH. Nine UH football coaches will travel to the mainland today on recruiting trips. Some will be on the road for as long as two weeks during this evaluation period. After that, the UH coaches will again visit every high school football team in Hawaii. Head coach Nick Rolovich, meanwhile, is headed to Arizona for Mountain West Conference meetings. Asked if he’ll pack golf clubs, Rolovich said, “No, I’ve got work to do. I’ll bring my computer.”
Former UH offensive lineman Ben Clarke said he agreed to a free-agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. Clarke said he was notified through a text from his agent.
