UH football: Coaches hit the road
Nine UH football coaches will travel to the mainland today on recruiting trips. Some will be on the road for as long as two weeks during this evaluation period.
After that, the UH coaches will again visit every high school football team in Hawaii.
Head coach Nick Rolovich, meanwhile, is headed to Arizona for Mountain West Conference meetings. Asked if he’ll pack golf clubs, Rolovich said, “No, I’ve got work to do. I’ll bring my computer.”

Really looking forward to the next recruiting class.
I think for the first time in a while it will be a full class. They need bodies. There are a lot of seniors.
GOOD MORNING, HAWAII!
Hope Na Koa and UH vendors showed up at the Spring Fling!
Good Hunting, Coaches!
ST, I feel the coaching staff will have a very successful recruiting class. Part of the reason is because the players are really happy. Ammon Barker came up to thank me for coming out to the Spring Fling. He and many of the players were all around the food trucks to greet the fans. And they were genuinely happy. You could see it in their faces. This will play into successful recruiting.
One observation about the players. They all looked great. The one that surprised me was Beau Reilly. From the stands, he looks skinny. But up close, you could see he has good muscles on his frame. I wouldn’t worry about Beau taking a hit in a game.
belated Happy birfday to Tom!! hope it was a great day for you!
“recruiting 2017” — how many players have already committed to UH? I recall the tall DL from the “bay area” — was there an 6′ 5″ OL from the mainland also?
however, NO commitment from any local player? other than McKenzie, who committed, but went to the East Coast, I do not recall another player who committed while a Jr to be in high school — oopss, forgot the WR from Mililani.
BTW, I never look at the write up of local athletes who went away – I believe the only newspaper who does this is the SA — places like Ohio, Michigan,Texas and Oklahoma there is outright hatred for in-state players who go to an out of state school – we experienced this at Ohio State last season when Ohio State fans, who were very cordial to us, expressed deep resentment for Michigan and I will presume vise versa at Michigan
BTW, if your personal check has husband/wife name, is wife automatically considered a “booster” even if she has absolutely no interest in sports?
“off-season” so can ask all the stupid questions – ha!
hip hip hooray!
sunshine in the valley!! dog nabit – as soon as I make this post the clouds obscure the sun
com’on mother nature – hot water and free electricity in great demand!!!
Looks like Colts signed Tigi Hill. Is that Tigi Hill from Kahuku? If so didn’t realize he was playing football for anyone.
Good luck to the coaches.
Hope the Warriors take the offseason to muscle, heal and skill up. Hit the books too!
GO WARRIORS!!!
I would like to see the baseball team join the football team in the Mountain West.

Noticed that Jeremy Castro was not listed in the spring fling. What is his status?
I heard Rolo say he likes to sit a jc transfer out a year to get acclimated with the program but I think he might have to get a few big bodied jc guys to plug in the defensive line right away.
