Cindy Luis covers University of Hawaii volleyball for the Star-Advertiser. She began her career as a sports journalist in Hawaii in 1981 with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and was the sports editor, assistant sports editor, columnist and beat writer during a 31-year span before the paper became the Star-Advertiser. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a B.A. in Communication Studies.

SC wins sand team title, Sunday pairs info

SC caps an undefeated season (28-0) with a 3-0 win over Long Beach State to win the AVCA Collegiate Sand team title. Last two flights did not need to be played since SC clinched when opening with three wins. The 49ers lost to the Women of Troy early Saturday to drop into the losers bracket. From UH tonight Senior middle Taylor Averill, Rainbow Wahine basketball player Shawna-Lei Kueh and Rainbow Wahine diver Genevieve Bradley were the recipients of the 2015 Jack Bonham Award in recognition of their outstanding performances on and off the playing field. Revised Wahine schedule: last 6 matches on road

Schedule that comes out Tuesday (in the paper as well) is different from what was given for season renewals a few weeks ago. The biggest change was the UCI-UCD series where they swapped the away matches originally in October with what was scheduled home matches in November.
