Manase Time, a highly recommended safety from Golden West College (Huntington Beach, Calif.), has accepted a UH scholarship offer. Time is 6 feet and 205 pounds. He will have three years to play three UH seasons. One of the state’s top players — Aaron Faumui of Kapolei High — told the Star-Advertiser he has accepted a scholarship from the Warriors. Faumui cited the Warriors’ “family” atmosphere as a large factor in his decision. He also received offers from Virginia, Florida, Wisconsin and Oregon. Faumui played on both sides of the line. UH’s pro day is set for March 20 on the Azusa Pacific University and Citrus College campuses. The meetings, interviews, measurements and weightlifting disciplines will be at the APU facilities. Farrington defensive lineman Fo‘i Sila will be joining the Warriors as a preferred walk-on this summer. Sila played end and tackle for the Governors in 2017. “He hits hard,” Farrington coach Randall Okimoto said. “He’s a hard hitter and he hustles. And he has good grades. The Warriors have granted defensive back Keala Santiago’s request for a scholarship release. The release allows Santiago to receive a football scholarship from another school during the 2018 fall semester. He still would have to redshirt if he transfers to another FBS school. Santiago played 22 games in his two UH seasons, starting five. He started four games this season when the Warriors opened in a three-safety scheme.
