It’s warm in Fort Collins … for now

By Dave Reardon on November 8, 2014

Three words we are very happy about right now: enclosed press box. Sunny here at Hughes Stadium, but when the sun sets it will get very cold. Temperature on field is 57 degrees 15 minutes before kickoff, but the mercury will go down fast. While the Rainbow Warriors have had their problems on the road in recent years, cold weather hasn’t seemed to add to the aggravations too much. Last year in Laramie, Wyo., freezing temperatures didn’t slow down the […]

A mile-high with ‘Bows, CSU, Jahmai, LeBron

It’s not too cold here in Fort Collins, Colo., but the sun goes down early and it will definitely be chilly for tomorrow’s 5 p.m. kickoff when Hawaii plays Colorado State. No snow expected in the area until next week. The Rams (8-1) are one of the best teams in the country and few people know about them. They are going to be a very tough challenge for UH (2-7). And the public loses as egos and special interests are served […]

Time for change?

By Dave Reardon on November 3, 2014

Saturday’s 35-14 loss to Utah State was the first game this season where it looked like the University of Hawaii football team showed signs of lack of intensity and even strong parts of the team seemed fractured. In today’s column, I propose that barring an unlikely strong finish to the season a change at head coach is necessary — despite protestations from UH that there is no money to pay the $750,000 necessary to buy out the last two year’s […]
