Warrior Beat: Hawaii football has head-to-toe trial run

By Stephen Tsai on August 20, 2019

In preparation for Saturday’s season opener against Arizona, the Hawaii football team wore their game helmets and game shoes during today’s two-hour practice. Head coach Nick Rolovich said breaking in the black helmets and Under Armour shoes was a “sign” that the first kickoff was approaching. “I think the team is fairly mature in that it doesn’t affect them one way or another,” Rolovich said. “I think it’s a subliminal message we’ve got a few more days.” The Warriors worked […]

By Dave Reardon on August 20, 2019

Sometimes, when a football coach says his players are “not thinking,” it’s a good thing. It doesn’t necessarily mean they’re making bad decisions. The candidates: fourth-year junior Rika Okino, junior Kyra Hanawahine and third-year sophomore Janelle Gong.
