Hoops staff shuffling

Eran Ganot has some staffing up to do this offseason. Oregon State announced the addition of UH hoops assistant Marlon Stewart as the Beavers’ new director of operations on Tuesday. Stewart, formerly an assistant at Montana, lasted just one year in Manoa as the team’s defensive coordinator and post players coach. Lopez, Heen earn All-Big West honors

Rainbow Wahine third baseman Nicole Lopez closed her junior season with a second straight selection to the Big West softball all-conference first team. The Big West announced its postseason honors on Tuesday and the Rainbow Wahine (23-27, 7-14 BWC) were represented by Lopez on the first team and sophomore catcher Callee Heen on the second team. ‘Bows to Australia official

The dates and cities are confirmed. Hawaii men’s basketball is going to Australia. It will be Aug. 8 to 18, between Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane. UH is expected to play one Australian pro/club team (to be announced) at each stop. The Rainbow Warriors will begin its 10 allotted practices for the trip in late July. Change has been fairly constant for the Hawaii softball team. Since the start of the season, UH coach Bob Coolen has continually tinkered with the lineup and went 13 games before repeating a batting order. In all, he’s written 24 different combinations over 38 games and 18 players have at least one start this season. Toeaina takes top honors

Add one more award to Sarah Toeaina’s collection. The Hawaii women’s basketball senior was honored for one last time to cap her decorated career on Sunday, as she was the recipient of the Ah Chew Goo Award — the program’s most prestigious individual honor — at the Rainbow Wahine postseason banquet for the second straight year. Toeaina also repeated as an All-Big West first-teamer in 2017-18, averaging 16.5 points and finishing as the ninth-leading scorer in program history (1,204 points). […]
