Cindy Luis covers University of Hawaii volleyball for the Star-Advertiser. She began her career as a sports journalist in Hawaii in 1981 with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and was the sports editor, assistant sports editor, columnist and beat writer during a 31-year span before the paper became the Star-Advertiser. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a B.A. in Communication Studies.

Not really surprised. Mendoza scheduled to start at libero instead of Kahakai. For those playing along at home, Passi will be wearing No. 3 tonight. not sure if that is a permanent change. Might be just this set of uniforms. She is listed at No. 12 elsewhere.

Sorry for all the problems people have been having finding links and posting. They continue to tweak the website. Lineup hasn’t changed but doesn’t mean it couldn’t when the lineup sheet gets turned in tonight. I’m looking forward to seeing what the group does when playing someone else. Got a chance to chat with her this morning before her practice in San Diego. She’s looking forward to coming out this week. Said her team is very young, two starters out with injuries and that it’s a very tough tournament to open the season with. She said she wished she could make it to alumnae matches but it has always conflicted with her season.

Another early morning practice, went to 830 since there was no lifting. They go to afternoon tomorrow, as is the game-week routine. Wait for it Setters are progressing, added a few plays. First time I’ve seen Maglio hit the slide. Manu-Olevao had some bombs of lineshots from the left. Long also, particularly on the right. Wait for it.
