Cindy Luis covers University of Hawaii volleyball for the Star-Advertiser. She began her career as a sports journalist in Hawaii in 1981 with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and was the sports editor, assistant sports editor, columnist and beat writer during a 31-year span before the paper became the Star-Advertiser. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a B.A. in Communication Studies.

The last thread went crazy. to answer a few things First practice now moved to the 9th. It was the 8th but changed yesterday. starts at 6:30 a.m. don’t know what was up with MyTake complaining about Shoji going to the Olympics to watch his sons and missing 12 3-hour practices. U.S. men eliminated, Spieler moves on in Elite 90 voting

Men lose to Brazil in five. they needed to win either 3-0 or 3-1. So they are out. Had several match points in Set 3, the first on an ace by Christenson at 24-23. E. Shoji with 21 digs. Spieler moves on to Fan Favorite Elite 90 semifinals.
