After 33 games and a 10-day break, the University of Hawaii softball team starts over Friday night. The Rainbow Wahine open the Big West schedule against the conference’s hottest team in UC Riverside. After taking its mandated day off on Wednesday, the Rainbow Wahine won’t have many more breaks in the schedule over the next three weeks. The Wahine (9-7) open the Pepsi Malihini Kipa Aloha Tournament on Thursday with their annual meeting with California at 6 p.m. at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. Rainbow Wahine freshman Rachel Lack was again named to Australia’s national team this week after a solid performance in national championships in early January. Lack made her debut with the national team last year and returns to the roster along with former UH standouts Kaia Parnaby, Stacey Porter, Justine Smethurst and Clare Warwick. Lack played with Porter and Parnaby for New South Wales in the Open Women’s National Championship held Jan. 4-10 and hit .371 with four doubles while driving […]
