For the last time this season, men’s basketball takes center stage at the Stan Sheriff Center. UH, struggling mightily for the month of February, will attempt to right itself before a supportive crowd in games on Thursday and Saturday before the Rainbow Warriors head to the mainland for the month of March to decide their postseason fate. Maia Hannemann and Julia Scoles claimed the first Big West Pairs Team of the Week award of 2020 after going 4-1 against elite competition during the opening weekend of the season. The senior Scoles and freshman Hannemann enjoyed instant success together against a stacked Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic field. Senior opposite Rado Parapunov and senior hitter Colton Cowell each put down 11 kills as No. 1 Hawaii swept No. 11 Stanford for a second consecutive night, winning the non conference volleyball match in Stanford, Calif., 25-23, 25-13, 25-20. It was the the Rainbow Warriors’ 14th straight nonconference road win dating back to 2018 and Hawaii’s seventh sweep in a row, 12th of the season.
