After 20 practices, the Warriors broke training camp this morning. The Warriors will enter their regular practice schedule on Monday, the first day of UH’s fall semester. The roster is permitted to expand at that time. The Warriors depart Wednesday evening to Denver in advance of next Saturday’s season opener against Colorado State. During a team meeting yesterday, K.K. Padello gave a slide-show presentation on his work on the Big Island as a member of the Hawaii Army National Guard. A picture appeared of his brother, defensive end Kaimana Padello, followed by joyful applause and cheering. After a slight delay, offensive tackle Ernest Moore has joined the Warriors. Moore needed to complete two summer classes at City College of San Francisco to earn an associate’s degree and finalize his transfer to UH. Moore has gone through the orientation phase — no-padded practices — and is expected to be cleared for full participation as early as tomorrow.
