Hawaii and Cal conducted media interviews a day out from their NCAA Tournament first-round game.
As prominent NCAA Tournament picks go, though, it doesn’t get greater than President Barack Obama’s “Barack-etology.”
The Rainbow Wahine will face UCLA on Saturday in the NCAA tournament.
One of the most notable snubs for this year’s tourney was Saint Mary’s out of the West Coast Conference. The Gaels had a 27-5 record, like Hawaii, but unlike the Rainbow Warriors didn’t have the luxury of an automatic berth when they lost to Gonzaga for their conference tournament title.
Hawaii defeated Long Beach State 64-60 to capture the Big West title on Saturday in Anaheim, Calif.
UH will find out its tournament draw during CBS’ robust two-hour NCAA selection show, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Hawaii time (2:30 p.m. Pacific, for those of you in Anaheim).
