Representatives from both SoFi Hawaii Bowl teams promoted Saturday’s bowl in a brief news conference at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel where Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach served as backdrop. Louisiana Tech coach Skip Holtz expressed concern about his team’s offensive production, referring to the inconsistency to the “elephant in the room.” After that, both teams prepared for their penultimate practice — the Warriors’ at the Ching facility, the Bulldogs’ at Aloha Stadium. Former UH quarterback Bryant Moniz and his 1-year-old […]

It had that new car smell. Lighting, acoustics, temperature, playing surface, shot clocks, cameras, you name it. The new and improved Gym II was an upgrade in all facets over the previous version of itself. The Hawaii men’s basketball team became the first outfit to use the refurbished, climate-controlled facility this afternoon. “Unbelievable,” was the general takeaway from the players and coaches. The place looked pretty accurate to the mock-up (if you click that link, scroll down for the photo) […]

Sunday’s only drama is Drammeh

By Brian McInnis on December 16, 2018

But the off-court drama? It lingered into the Manoa night, courtesy of one Sheriff Drammeh. UH coach Eran Ganot said before the game that the senior guard is suspended for an unspecified violation of team rules. After UH (6-4) dispatched MVSU (2-11) with ease, 76-51, the most […]
