The NORCECA Continental Championships run July 28-Aug. 3. The U.S. is the defending champions having won it in 2012. The top three teams will qualify for the 2015 FIVB Men’s Junior World Championships.

BTW, you know that Fey and Micah Christenson are first cousins? Their moms are sisters, the daughters of the late coach Harry ‘Clown’ Kahuanui.

Micah actually was the setter in the Mexico and Cuba games due to an injury to their starting setter, Tuiniga. Micah is so versatile that he started as opposite at the beginning of the tournament and then switched to setter in the championship matches. Hawaii should be proud of our native son who was voted the outstanding setter in this tournament.
