new thread up for saturday’s byu-baylor match.
65. they will keep Granato in for serving, serve receive and the 3-meter attack. Did you only look at the stats and not see the match? a number of her swings are on the bail-us-out balls, no other option
but agree that Iosia goes to her to much when there seems to be other options. But, then, it’s a split second decision and I’m not the one setting.

I like Sibley on the right. She gives Hawaii honest swings, versus Koelsch, who has really only trained as a hitter this season. Sibley will need to greatly improve her blocking and I feel like her vertical got worse? Still, I’ve wondered why she was out so much earlier since I thought she had some stellar hitting games as a freshman last year – altho up and down.

Ross in the back row is best fit. She’s quite the defender – better than average passer. Think she’d be Ah Mow’s libero next season.

Assuming Hawaii beats Nevada tonight, 3 of their 4 losses were to rank teams after three tourneys. Hawaii has had stretches like this in recent years to start the season. Main thing is they take care of the Big West – which is pretty deplorable right now aside from Cal Poly and UCI – both of which have nice records but got taken out easily by Power 5 schools.

Definitely shining as a back row DS. Strange game, lots of players contributed who haven’t been very productive before.

Well, I think these girls are Cardiac Kids #2. As Kanoa said, not for the faint of the heart. Great great comeback after the disappointing loss to BYU I’m sure the girls felt.

Great showing by Maglio and Granato!

Strong contribution by Burns, Sibley and Ross (back row).

Too many serving errors almost cost us.

Overall, great confidence booster and hopefully will help RPI some. Shoji called it in five! Let’s hope heyrigjt about repeating as Conference champions too.

Enjoyed the interview with Maglio (and Shoji).

Can’t see what is happening at the net due to lack of visual depth in that area!

Great that there are always options for this team. Hope to see every player on this team improve and get physically stronger week to week, because that is what it will likely take to make it to the postseason.

The optics for a volleyball match using that camera angle is terrible. Do not follow what the NCAA tournament does during their volleyball tournaments. Oceanic never used that angle for good reasons so all these years I thought we had the best camera operators vs what the NCAA does during volleyball matches.
