I wonder if we changed our name from Rainbow Warriors to Supermen or Hulks or Giants or Menehune, would our fortunes change? I mean Supermen or Giants etc are stronger names than Warriors and would make a different

Or would having more taller, stronger, faster players make a difference?

Or would a rose by any other name smell just as fair?

Warriors is very strong word. That fighting spirit. I like that. Rainbow on the other hand is a very lazy, easy, laid back kind of word that implies to me to sit and watch something. It’s not an action word. To sum it up: The Golden State Warriors. Enuff said.

Why is it so confusing? The official name of UH men’s and women’s sports is Rainbow Warriors and Rainbow Wahine, respectively. AD Dsve Matlin polled the head coaches of all sports and this is their consensus choice.

Wow, lau lau, there’s a lot of frustration out there. It’s not the season we all envisioned. Calling a spade a spade, our football team is paying hard, but poor execution, errors, poor tackling, etc. plus many injuries too all contributes toward the season we are having. I sound off sometimes, because I care about our program. If I didn’t care I wouldn’t say a word. We’ve consistently lost on the defensive side of the ball and on special teams. Sometimes our offense can move it, but the scoring doesn’t match the stats. They say lose 2 out of 3 areas and you probably lose the football game. That is what has happened. I don’t blame the players. The coaches have to do a better job coaching and teaching the players
