Rolo said it’s easier to call plays in the run and shoot with the 10
personnel group , in the news article. In the Na Kia article , it tells how complicated the QB’s job is.
On radio last night, he said a new rule is that you can only sign 25 players for next season. And he cannot replace someone who, say , doesn’t meet academic requirements later . Cannot oversign players now.

most, if not all, recognize that playing at any D! level is tough and gets tougher as teams get better

however, calling plays and getting the players to execute is another matter — is it the coach inability to transfer his knowledge to the players or players cannot grasp the concept or both?

for example, pass play called and receiver turns the opposite direction where the QB threw the ball or is it receiver turned the right way and QB threw to the wrong side? correctable, heck yes, but position coaches must work with either or both players

no different than a LB or DB missing an assignment — why? mistake? tired? trying to do too much?

Rolo will call plays for next 3 games/Tsai’s column,

Head coach Nick Rolovich said he expects to call the offensive plays for the Hawaii football team’s three remaining regular-season games.

The Rainbow Warriors have been down a full-time coach since Chris Naeole resigned as offensive line coach in the week leading to the Oct. 7 road game against Nevada. Since then, offensive coordinator Brian Smith and graduate assistant John Estes have been coaching the offensive linemen.

In seven of the Warriors’ nine games, Smith called the offensive plays from the coaches’ booth.

Rolovich called the plays against Nevada and last weekend against UNLV.
