offense and defense were totally out of kilter — how can both safeties watch the TE or WR come across the middle and not even make a move — 2 went for TDs and the other for a 90+ yards gain — of, did they even see them?

Hawaii’s offense is much better on offense by over 150 yards per game and 8 to 9 points better 28.8 points per game compared to about 20 points per game. Give Nevada the home field advantage by a couple of points and Hawaii should be a 3 to 5 point favorite. So the difference will probably come down to a couple of things, like turnovers, penalties, special teams, and big plays. In other words, if Hawaii doesn’t play a good game, they could well lose. Bottom line, the enemy is not Nevada, it’s Hawaii. Just take care of business.

Best in the conference, better than San Diego State. UH defense holds Wyoming under 300 yards on the road, and now we give up over 600 years at home. There is no consistency. We had no sacks last night, receivers catching passes in a vacant lot, runnings backs going through gaping holes. Our DBs look slow. DBs can’t tackle very well. A lot of soul searching to do and some things need to change. Our offense had over 500 yards of offense, but only 21 points. That’s not going to do it. Must score in the high 30s or 40s to have a chance to win, but cause our defense doesn’t look like we can stop anybody. To me, there has to be more blitz packages from different angles. I’m not surprised with the outcome last night. What I was surprised was that we didn’t seem to play with agression and the fire to want it bad. And that was disappointing and the mental mistakes. Rolo must be beside himself. Some choice words needs to be said.

This year, through 5 games, UH is No. 118, at 37.6. I assume that could get a little better as the season goes on.

There has to be some semblance of a defense as we simply can’t count on outscoring our opponents.
