While I was not always impressed with the recruiting during the JJ era, in the earlier years players who were 1st or 2nd team were slowly pushed down the depth chart by later recruits and it wasn’t a matter of favoring his own recruits.

The error in logic of your statement is that all other College Football teams had no injuries and are all healthy. Hawaii is not that one special butterfly that has injuries, dismissals, suspensions and medical retirements. All college teams have the same problems with digging into their deep depth chart.

BYU was decimated with injuries this season and whipped Hawaii at Aloha Stadium. Diocemy couldn’t even get the record until the end of the game in garbage time when BYU had there 2nd and 3rd string defense in. The mainland players talent level on the depth chart s not D1 level.

Coaching changes needed. OC and DC

Shorten the game and limit the chance of turning over the ball. It took a toll on the defense but when they did (the offense) take too many chances there was mostly failure, so I think we should cut Rolo some slack (as far as the boring offense is concerned) there. Just not enough receivers that Brown had trust in. Rolo did have one real bad game (Utah St) so that is a concern. All part of the learning process. Next year the offensive dynamic will be much different (way more options), Brown just has to develop trust with his protection schemes and route reading. Practice
