Cindy, I have an important question. Do you know whether the Big West Women’s Beach Volleyball competition will be broadcast on ESPN3? I couldn’t find out from looking at the ESPN3 schedule of upcoming evens. Perhaps you might have heard on the grapevine?

I love the net that the Wahine coaching staff are casting. They are making money moves. Can’t believe I used that, but if you knew the staff you would know that their personalities, experience, ability to train, etc. are a plus when it comes to attracting future PSAs.

Scoles to beach (only) will still provide a segway for other athletes to explore UH as a transfer destination whether for beach or indoor. It would be very interesting to see if we do land Borup/Carlton. However, I do like the fact that our staff seems to be screening potential transfers to ensure that they are coming in knowing that nothing will be handed to them. Athletes will have to want to work hard at improving their individual skills as well as contributing to team dynamic.

Ma’afala can hold her own for three rotations setting in the backrow too.
The wahine block may be huge next season I expect Skyler to improve a lot, at times last season she was an absolute wall.

If Borup or Carlton commits, I see no way why we don’t run a 6-2. Well have more options for weapons than we’ve had for awhile. The only bad thing about that is a setter like iosia only setting for 3 rotations seems criminal.

Carlton has ALOT of offers right now but hopefully she commits. A 6-2 with her all the way around and iosia with gaskin or even her just at opp and maafala setting has the potential to be very very good.

Reading up on Julia she is a very talented athlete. Was a 18 ppg basketball player besides being the #1 volleyball player in the state. Listed as having a 30 inches vertical.

Lots of accolades and accomplishments for this young lady.
