I am used to it. I have in my back yard, many centipedes, some scorpions, three kinds of spiders and of course, 747 cockroaches. No snakes. Not many roaches now since I regularly spray a lot of poison, but cannot get rid of the centipedes. Been bit once on my hand. Really, really hurts.

We in Hawaii are lucky with only flying roaches to scare the daylights out of us and recruits. But we have sharks, jelly fish and my wife got scared out her wits from a rare hawaiian snake.

Have an Aussie friend/very close friend who lives here in Chicago. Deathly afraid of snakes spiders and gators when we golf in Fla. He knows what harm can come!!!
