Warriors add JC corner
Manu Rasmussen, a defensive back from Riverside (Calif.) City College, has accepted a football scholarship from the University of Hawaii.
Rasmussen said he will sign a letter of intent today, the first day mid-year transfers may put their commitments in writing. He will enroll at UH-Manoa in January.
“It was the whole atmosphere there,” Rasmussen said of his decision. “I have a lot of family there. Coach (Nick) Rolovich has done a really good job with the program.”
Rasmussen was born in Hawaii, but moved to Tigard, Ore., when he was 5. He attended the University of Montana for two years, playing in 12 games as a second-year freshman in 2015. He transferred to RCC the past spring.
Manu Rasmussen and UH nose tackle Kory Rasmussen are first cousins. Manu Rasmussen has an “808” tattoo on his arm.
He visited South Alabama the past weekend, but he was set on signing with Hawaii. “I made the right move,” he said.
Defensive end Jamie Tago, who was at UH for two years before transferring to Garden City College, also signed a letter of intent today. Tago will rejoin the Warriors in January.
Three grayshirts also will join in January. They are defensive back Eugene Ford, wideout Marcus Armstrong-Brown and defensive tackle Kalepo Naotala.

He looks to be in great shape at 6-3/260. Is Manu related to Kory?
Oops, didn’t read the whole article.
H-Man you just avoided some piercing words-welcome to both the new Warriors. If South Alabama was recruiting him, guess what? He’s got speed and can cover. Jamie has filled out well-hoping for some big talented bodies on both sides. Oh ya it’s single digit temps with a wind chill of minus 20 on the way-You are sooooo lucky!!!!! GoWarriors!!!
Any word on Kavapalu enrolling in January as well?

Just to be fair, I think all the hairstyles are winners – would love see a mash-up of all six on one head. Oh yeah, and add Coach Nae’ole’s hair to that mix too!

Manu & Kory’s uncle is Na Hoku Hanohano Award Winner, singer, songwriter, and producer Jeff Rasmussen.
Jeff is also minister of music who often travels with Rev. Bulla and reaches out to local incarcerated folks who seeks to be “Free Inside”

This NFL player is bummed out that the Pro Bowl will be played in Orlando instead of Hawaii. He said its pointless to play it in Orlando. He was looking forward to the free trip to Hawaii. Too bad! Maybe more players need to speak up.

This 5-9 college basketball player is leading the nation in scoring averaging more than 30 points per game. And he went to Moanalua High School – his freshman year.

Chee hanapa’a!
Lots of good things happening in recruiting, always cautious until pen meets paper. Congrats to the transfers and welcome home!
“Keep ’em coming” Coach Rolo …..
Could use a few more “beefy” DT’s
Read in USAToday Sports that Arizona QB “Anu” Solomon
will be transferring. Being that he was born here it would
be awesome if he decided on Hawaii …BUT… he played at
Bishop Gorman for Tony Sanchez so I have a “gut” feeling
(and I have a big gut) that he will end up at UNLV. That’ll
make the UH / UNLV game in Vegas real interesting
Milton freshman all american. Makes me wonder about those who said he could not play at this level.
