(a million plus)The Japanese is Peru are less in number but a lot of them have been in the Peruvian government; one even was President.

Strangely, in the mid 40’s, the largest Chinese population was not in New York. San Francisco, but in Cuba!

What many people do not know is that the largest Japanese population outside of Japan is not LA,SF or NYC…rather it is in Brazil. The Japantown in Sao Paulo is about 650000. They are are called issei, and if you are a Brasilian Japanese person working in Japan, you are called dekasegi.

It’s both…. Do the math… If SB makes FTs, we lose by close to 20…. We gave up over 40 points in the 2nd half which is bad. Even worse when SB only made 2 FTs in the final 5 minutes.

When you play good D, which involves rebounding the ball and keeping opposing team off the FT line, you give your team a chance to win even when your offense is struggling. Reason why SDSU is so good. Reason why Irvine will probably win this league.

Hawaii cannot win a game in the 60s.

If you watched closely UH tried to trap only when the ball was in bounded to one of the corners. Or when they could the force the dibble down the side line they’d try to trap the dribbler as soon as he crossed half court. UCSB to their credit started to inbound the ball to Williams at the top on the key negating any trapping. UH was prudent to back off whenever this happened. The only counter UH could have done was to bring Fotu upcourt to guard Williams on the inbounds rather than having him guarding the basket.

Then, around 1:30 & down by 10ish, you need to start stoping the clock. They waited till it was under a minute, the still let them run off 15 seconds before fouling.

Maybe it was just signing day hangover….?

If I am not mistaken, Boolakanaka can speak some portuguese as he was in Brazil’s state of Para on the northern part of that nation.

Our guys are tall, but they are not “big” compared to players like that guy they faced tonight. We will lose inside much of the time due to that bulk disadvantage.

kapakahi, that foot to the olo’s, while I laughed, was bad.
