Smashmouth anything is too much like cannonfodder thinking and I would not recommend it for any living creature, much less a child.

I guess thats why my kids were swimmers and soccer players.

Their body language speaks volumes.

Taking a page out of the military way of instilling motivation, it’s time for the team Captains to get the team together prior to practice and leading them thru a quick series of warm-up drills designed for them to get fired up and sound off to let the coaches know they are Always Ready! This will help them prepare to get some serious work done at practice. Never backwards, always forward, the Warrior way.

I don’t care too much about the wins and losses, as the wins will come if they play together, play smart, play hard, and play with the willingness to win games. Getting blown out by teams that we can beat just doesn’t cut it. USC, well we’re not on their level yet. Lamar, might as well have been playing a high school team. Nevada, no excuse, it’s the same team we’ve been beating previously and yes Fajardo and Jefferson are good, we just made them look great. No way should we have been blown out. BYU, I hate them, but again they are not as good as we made them look. Being blown out by a rival school to me is an embarrassment. If it was any game to get amped up for it should have been that one, knowing that they have been our rivals for years! Still, they just whooped our asses! So again no excuses, and I’m not asking for miracles to happen but I would like to see some better efforts on the field from the whole team, coaches on down to the players. Getting blown out, not being able to score, and giving up almost 40 points a game to every D1 school we’ve faced is unacceptable!

Wise decisions.

We’ve got players, and to me, yes the all-stars makes it easier to do what you want to do, but I will take a guy who goes hard and plays smart any day. It just takes everyone to be on the same page, to have that same willingness to go hard and to have each others back. Coaches just need to figure out a way to get the boys to all play hard and smart and play together. The execution will come with repetition and practice. They all need to trust each other and figure it out quick…
