Personally, I don’t mind budget cuts as long as they fall into the category of wasteful spending, but one can’t rely on simply trimming the budget. There’s has to be an innovative fundraising approach, and it doesn’t appear BJ is succeeding in that department.

One thing I noticed, he’s good at shifting the blame using the “fans want filet mignon for the price of Spam” analogy….inferring that UH fans are too cheap. That’s pretty insulting to those who donate what they can to support UH athletic programs.

this is where me thinks…that deal with oceanic…is totally misguided…same with the charter flights for visiting teams..n the wonder blunder…when they are under the “gun” they buckle…some cash n perks from “rick” n company..could have been used to get advertisement…for.. “numero uno” things like perry n price pushing season tickets….individual tickets..in all paying sports…their resources is worth more then all that cash that they “dangeled” in front of the numbers man.. n he took the bait..hook line n sinker…no one else was reported to make a “deal”….

N please don;t tell me ..they can’t sell 40,000 season tickets if there was a plan n promo…listen up here..is ne one here “even remotely” think that “perry n price” could not raise 50 k..(for the warriors to have a decent place to sleep)…n do it in one day…wake up…people…

I guess the word is “SHIBAI” (ralph # 39) to be used to describe what is going on with the budget……let’s see… the H zone should bring in half a million…
we play ohio state sept 12, in 2015… what we get 1 million or after expenses what ?
so that means only one million short…

Its a god damn slap in the face for all the volunteers of the past and present. The volunteers who are invisible and only accountable when fault is needed to be pinpointed.

When a certain individual says “oh yeah we will find a way to pay for extra meals now” then goes around and tells the coaches now they and their boosters/volunteers must find the monies to do so.

MOST of UH’s internal restrictions have NOTHING to do with being in NCAA compliance.

Sodexo this… bookstore that.. corporate high dollar sponsors only this….

BANQUETS??? Forget the fact that other local establishments are willing to host banquets at a feasible price for programs BUT UH’s DEMANDS booster clubs to pay TOP DOLLAR for their corporate hotel partners…. EVER WONDER WHY BANQUET COSTS ARE HIGH????????????????????????????

UH wants to patronize their corporate sponsors? Fine. Makes sense. BUT what doesn’t make sense is forcing non-revenue programs to pay top dollar to use a ballroom for a corporate hotel partner when that same program is allotted ZERO in terms of cash or trade from those same sponsors because administration uses up all of the perks from the partnership towards other “priority” sports.

THERE IS YOUR ‘COMMON SENSE’ LEADERSHIP ……..

Help the coaches and the programs. They are the victims of the inability of the leadership at UH to run a division one program.
