This has been a major weak point over the years. Poor pass and run blocking. Terrible tackling techniques (not wrapping up), too much grabbing, missed tackles. NFL type of practices is fine for the NFL, but this is college ball with players that need to develop. Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays should be grinding practices, IMHO. Your practices need to be harder than games. Maybe too old school.

From this, you can develop a certain level of physicality that has been lacking from UH Football from years past. Used to hear stories during the Tomey years of opposing teams that had players being helped on to the plane after playing UH. Regardless of the final score, they knew that they’d been in a game.
