facilities may not make the man….but they help get the man to help get the wins to help get the $$$.
keep living in the 80’s.

i think most people have no idea how lucky we are to have gotten the recruits we did. yeah, keep up this attitude and watch them do an about face. these kids are glued to chow at the hip and all people are doing is fracturing that connection.

i think people who know football, know that you cant fully judge a coach until at best year 3 with the end results being years 4-5.

you guys all seen the pics of utahs facilities. consider what chow gave up to come here. consider what the players gave up to play here. those guys all made sacrifices and chose a “poor” school (speaking in terms of facilities) which is partly why i am patient still and for me year 3 should be the 6 win season.

Maybe UH can get a loan from Aaron Price?

Ok this one made me genuinely smile. 😆

Are we close to finished on the meeting rooms. I know the lockers are done but no pics on the hawaii athletics website. I’ll donate a pool table if they have room for one.

Real men don’t need that cosmetic crap. I went to Venice Beach back in 81 to see the original Golds Gym. The house that built Arnold (7 time Mr. Olympia) Schwartzenegger and Franco (The Hammer) Columbo was a concrete floored, no A/C, no color scheme, no ventilation stink ass sweat box. These recruits need to know the facilities don’t make the man.

Very classy move by Coach York and the Trojan football team to cancel their practice to attend vigil at Farrington. Also saw that the Govs practiced at Mokuleia to be near the family.

There once was a time when UH looked at what it had in terms of facilities, budget, etc. and said “yeah, this is what we got. But we will still strap it up and play you tough.” They had a reputation for being a small budget program that played with less but always left teams thinking “man those guys can hit” or “those guys got heart.”

I’m sorry, but as a fan, I don’t really appreciate the begging in the media or the overflow of envy in today’s SA articles.

This is who we are, who we’ve been, and who we’ll be. That’s what makes us appreciate our team even more. Do I want more money for our program? Of course. I just feel like our program is advertised as pathetic.

Out of one side of his mouth, he says an 0-8 season doesn’t help ticket sales. Then out of the other, he says that folks have to respond and buy tickets or donate.

If the food sucks, people don’t eat at the restaurant. They don’t continue to eat there hoping that the money from the bill will help the cook get better. People like me will continue to support the program. I always have and always will. But you need other fans too. The ones who come when a team wins, or is intriguing.

Stop begging. Or at least do it privately. There isn’t a big time donor out there that is going to read the SA and decide to save the program. These are big time business negotiations that need to occur behind the scenes. Not publicly in the media making the program look pathetic.
