Being mediocre or average is not my cup of tea. Sooner or later, coaches get fired or either resign under pressure. It all goes back on the coaches, they are the ones who do the recruiting and the ones who make the decisions. I don’t knock the players, they are who they are. If they are not BCS caliber it’s not their fault. Corey Nielson, backup QB who was at the bottom of the depth chart, he was my favorite player. So let’s not tell me I’m negative. There is a huge difference between being negative and being frank and being honest. The natural thing for people to think is they only see one side that is the bad side. There is always 2 sides, 3 if you count the middle. People that things personally. I like to be objective and try to look at the big picture. I had the same problem until I learned in a seminar that when confronted a tough situation, the best thing to do is not to make rash decisions, but take a step back and clear the thought process before making a decision. College or Pro football is a tough sport. College players are not so called professionals. Some would argue that because many of them aspire to a pro career. Either way, it’s a business and can be very cruel. As Coach Mack has said it’s not PE football. As Dan Hawkins said, “it’s Divsion I football, it’s the Big 12!!!” He didn’t win so he’s gone. Show me a nice guy and you will find a loser. We can disagree, it’s okay. Free country. I guess I’m a bad loser, because when you lose it hurts and it hurts a whole community. I was not raised to accept losing too often. Someone told me to “don’t settle on things”. If you want to get anywhere, be a risk taker. I learneded a long time ago that teams lose more often because of their own miscues, not because the other team beat us. It’s is self inflicted. That is what I see with our football team. At the very least we should be 6-1 right now. Mistakes, plus poor coaching decisions all contributed. All we can do right now is to hope the team can play a good game on the road this Saturday and come up on top.

It is simply laughable how everyone forgets about the Coach Von Appen years. Now THOSE were difficult times my friends. And everyone should get over Coach Jones. Jones lost to Florida Atlantic, and also had some losing seasons. I think him allowing Colt to get beat up in the Sugar Bowl soured many peoples opinion of Colt, contributing to the difficulties Colt encounters trying to play in the NFL.

Several years ago that person ripped on the program for giving corey paredes and richard torres scholarships, claiming that they were D2 talent. He or she whined when they started paredes in his sophomore year, even though he was awarded WAC player of the week in his FIRST start against Washington State. Now here he or she is just swooning over richard torres. My, my, my. All of you negative people need to learn more about football, how it’s played, and the value of football head coaches. We pay 1.1 mil for coach mac. How much does it take to have an elite coach? Coach Saban makes 4 mil plus, Coach Miles makes 3.1 mil plus, Coach Petersen makes 2.2 mil plus. Get the picture? Coach Mac is a great Coach, and if we want better, we need to ante up. It is simply ridiculous to bring his salary down to match salaries that are paid to highly paid administrators in the UH system. It doesn’t work that way. Ask the college to get Oprah or Jim Carrey to act at Kennedy theater in one of their productions for the peanuts the actors there get. You won’t have much luck because it doesn’t work that way. Coach mac is doing a great job. Don’t worry about the kicking, he’ll get that fixed. Don’t worry about Moniz, he’s having to learn how to run this new offense because of the departure of Greg and Kealoha. You CAN cheer and celebrate Joey “Freight Train” Iosefa and Scott “Sure Hands” Harding, two freshman who will contribute heavily in the next 3 years. The future looks bright as ever.

Geez, 7th game into the season and he’s flip flopping between kickers! Kickers are a different breed of athletes. It’s all about confidence and once you get in their heads, they’re finished! Doesn’t help much when Mac keeps rotating them between PAT’s! At this stage in the season, just go with Hadden! Stronger leg versus Chun, same results with PAT’s, and at least he can kick-off! Wait until the game is really on the line when UH needs a win to qualify for the Hawaii Bowl. I wonder how whoever is kicking is going to feel?

As we leave the WAC, JD needs to reassess the program and is Mac the guy who elevates UH to the next level? Three issues which haven’t been answered: 1) Can’t win the big games, especially on ESPN, 2) Can’t recruit locally, and 3) Dwindling attendance. UH is a program floundering in the Pacific waiting for the dominoes to fall. UH has to grab the bull by it’s horns and make it happen now before all doors are shut.

Does Moniz have personal problems in his life. His performance recently has not been “Moniz-like”.

With NM State running up and down the field, whose decision was it to insert the second/third string qb with 7 minutes left with UH up only 2 tds and change?! FINISH THE GAME and make a statement. The fans deserve at least that after a deplorable kicking performance the whole game.

Did the PAT kicker have any idea how much money UH backers nationwide lost on the missed PAT right before the end of the 1st half?!

Most of the hardcore UH fans really didn’t want to hear McMackin’s whining or excuses after the game. The kicking game was suspect a few games ago and nothing has improved, it’s actually more glaringly deficient.

Personally, McMackin’s whining does not inspire confidence. McMackin might need to get “McPackin” out of town.

Is it leg speed, like bat speed for baseball? Is it just plain ol’ brute strength? Is it where they make contact with the ball, or how the ball is set on the tee? Just wondering.

Just spent the whole morning trying to trouble shoot my kid’s airbag light problem. Electrical problems irritate me.

Gonna spend some time inside, googling how kick that ball.

Miah started out on fire, being the go-to guy in clutch situations against Colorado. After getting hurt, Clapp was sent in, and has really stepped up. We’ve got so many receivers not at 100% right now, which makes Moniz’s job that much harder. We saw a couple of passes thrown Saturday night to where a receiver should have gone. As long as we iron out these things before too long, I’ll be okay. Lots of boyz are being called up to fill in. At least in that regard, they are all getting much needed game experience.

My wife will often call our kids, nephews, and nieces by the wrong names. My mom still does it to this day. For me, I guess, it’s a non-issue. It’s funnier when my kids will call my wife their teacher’s name. As long as I don’t go yelling out another girl’s name, I’m okay.

I was just saying Coach Mac corrected himself in the same sentence. He didn’t repeatedly say “our little guy” as someone posted.

I hear what you guys are saying, but since I’ve been hearing it for ages, it doesn’t really phase me.
