It hit me that Chow has “borrowed” a lot to fashion this year’s offense. Don’t believe UH ever lined in the traditional peo set.

I was at the game but I wish I could see the replay. Don’t believe they ran too many plays from last year other than the empty set. In my mind they didn’t have any of the same running plays as last year.

In a sense everyone on offense is learning a new system. It may take a while but I have confidence things will get better. The comfort level of running this offense will increase with each game. The team will find it’s rhythm.

A point here and there is compounded. She’s a starter and she was missed. But credit San Diego also. They were feisty and dug a lot of balls. That San Diego libero from Hawaii was pretty too. She was also an all tournament selection. San Diego’s blocking was the key in this match. And that’s how it goes, especially in the tournaments. Blocking is intimidation, impose your will on the other team. The team that blocks better usually wins the critical points and eventually the match.

That’s how we beat Texas on Friday night.
