A point spread of 3.5 points that other MW schools get for home field advantage playing on the mainland is probably more like a 7-point spread when playing on the rock.

If not mistaken, the last time Nevada played in Hawaii they left early like on a Wednesday compared to prior years when there were no travel subsides. I think they stayed at the Turtle Bay, too. Not sure that will be the same this year.

Why? simple, more of the same from Chow and Wynn – how can I “clear” when I know what to expect for each succeeding game – up-the-middle; short passes to the flat; not utilizing Keenan’s and Saint Juste’s quickness and speed on the perimeters and Vele’s strength up the middle.

Look at any past game and the DC of each opponent can clearly see UH’s pattern of play calling/offensive scheme.

I may be mistaken, but UH WR do not block or sustain a block – reminds me of AL who ran very poor patterns when the ball went to another receiver. There were times when he took 2 or 3 steps and stopped. Made it easy for the FS to defend the others.

I was so hopeful that UH would do better that I declined a wedding invitation at the Halekulani on 10/25/14.

+4 points against Nevada.

It should be closer to Hawaii+10.

Nevada just beat BYU 42-35. (at BYU)

Nevada’s 4-3 and aiming for a bowl game.

Hawaii’s 2-5 and aiming for Chow’s replacement.

There’s no hope in Hawaii/Chow…take Nevada. Rolo needs to get the last laugh.

I should be another miserable game that Chow coaches.

Nevada-35
UH-17

We have a losing identity and it’s not ending. Woosley puts too much air under the ball where it’s an up for grabs play. I would actually like to see Prater over Reilly, he seems to be built for hits and could be a Drew Bree’s type of QB.

Actually, my uncle Michael Nuamu was playing middle linebacker for BYU and we sat on UH’s side and cheered for the Bows’. However, it is getting hard to watch this train wreck. Here is my view of the SD game, which I attended with my kids and wife:

1) Running with a off set 2 back formation loads the box and our OL can’t create the holes needed to gain good yardage. Our RBs were getting nailed as they ran into the SD wall of defenders.

2) The game plan seemed scattered and predictable – as usual: we line up in obvious run formations and run. Then we get into shotgun or pistol and pass.

Why are we passing to a TE for a 1 or 2 yard gain? Plus the TE seemed to be the first option in the route. Why are WRs running 2 yard routes and in most cases stopping at the end of the route? All this leads to 3rd and long folks. Jordan Winn needs to find another job because his play calling is laughable.

3) People have been high on the new defense. However, where did our blitzing go? It was obvious that our OLB’s were being beaten to the edge and no adjustments (ie) extra DB? Plus, SD 90% of the time ran to the strong side. Anyone here about DL shifts or LB shifts?

4)The players are great young men. My son was talking with them (RBs) from the stands during warm-ups and watching the OL warm up. They seem driven to win and in good spirits, however, their coaches are not equipped to lead them to victory, especially the OC. I feel sad for them as they have much more invested compared to me.

Morning?

The Eli got back on the winning track, putting up a win against the Raiders of Colgate and still in the running for the prestigious (well not so much) Ivy Championship at 4-1.
