Congrats to the baseball team for a great come-from-behind victory. Earlier, I was watching the softball team put away Purdue 4-1 behind Brittany Hitchcock’s pitching. She was voted the outstanding pitcher for the Hawaii Pacific Health Rainbow Wahine Classic where the Wahine went 6-1.

Lazy fly balls turning into HRs. Led to some ridiculous football-like scores.

Don’t remember the deficit.

But Hawaii came back against San Diego State.

On the negative side, I recall Hawaii being up some ridiculous score, maybe 12-1, and lost at Air Force.

islandman: Did not know Gavin Petersen was coaching at Utah.

The year escapes me since it was either back in the 70’s or 80’s. Hawaii was down 10 runs to 1 going into the bottom of the 9th inning and won the game 11 to 10.

I was simply making a point that the atmosphere at Murakami stadium is different now. Considering the standing room only crowd on Thursday and the $5 per ticket night, I guess I was deafened by the raucous crowd and I knew I had to beat the traffic.

But, great win for the bows and the players. Congratulations for a great come from behind win!

My little league team was down 7-0 going into the bottom of the last inning – and scored 8 to win. I tend to hold on to hope for comebacks more than my friends as a result. I am glad that I did not give up on the Base Bows today.

Has to be one of the best comebacks in UH baseball history.

Baseball ‘Bows trailed 10-4 entering the bottom of the eighth, then scored five in the eighth and two in the ninth after two outs for an 11-10 win. Team is scrappy.
