yep, leave it to upper campus – they spent around $1.2 million is legal fees to protect their a–es and now an additional $225K

and they and the BOR wonder why the taxpayers are upset about their ability/capabilities and decisions – wonder if the BOR members who are CEOs of “successful” business run their shop the same way?

If the conference likes the idea of the 13th game, and the competitive nature of the 3rd place participant “needing prove bowl worthiness” it would be in their best interest to play.

Those conferences already are in place to make a ton of dollars when post season major bowls roll along, so they can afford to subsidize their 3rd place team to possibly make more money when bowl selection rolls along.

It is out of the box. Good for you.

If they finish 3rd, then they would have to come here if their conference agrees beforehand to send its 3rd place team. If the team needs to win to their last game to get here, I’m sure it will promote a lot of interest within the league and the teams themselves. If they lose then the next team, who may also have to win their final game, takes their place. In reality, I don’t think they are thinking about injuries by playing a football game (maybe teams decimated by injuries would, but then, if that is how their season is going, they probably wouldn’t be in 3rd place). They will probably make up any $$ losses incurred in the Hawaii game, if any, by playing in a bowl game later on in the winter, but do I think Hawaii would have to pay out some bucks for any team to get here. Adding a premium price on ticket sales for their fans will also help them out financially. We are already paying all the teams in the MWC travel substities, why not pay a marquee team the same. I mentioned flights from the West coast because it would be easier making long term reservations, but most of the BCS conference teams charter their flights, which we could pay a set amount for. Being a road game, I’m not sure, but I think they will be limited in the number of players suited up so no need to charter 3, 4, 5 planes at our expense. If only 2 conferences agree, then they could rotate, every other year. More conferences, the longer they wait for their reward to come to Hawaii. I am just thinking “outside the box” as I really enjoyed the many years that Hawaii played a “marquee” team on the last game of the season. With all the conference playoffs on the last week, playing a marquee team in December will almost be impossible. Besides, what will the rest of the teams in the conference be doing?

Having the seats in the lockers gives more leg and walking room . I . Also the lockers dont even look like the ones from the rendering but that is a good thing because the others looked like some kind of cubicle. Cant wait for the end result!
