MIH hindsight doesn’t count, hindsight allows us to judge whether the strategic plan was right and in the best interest of the University and if the leadership picked were the right choices. To pre judge and cast a pall over the leadership before events unfold and an assessment made of the just completed strategic plan of 2002 to 2010 is shortsighted. Just because coach Mac didn’t get his contract extension doesn’t mean UH’s strategic and its leaders have failed, after all, UH is an academic institution first and foremost with intercollegiate athletics including football.

An extension of the plan carries UH to 2015. Hinshaw guided UH to 10 more years of accreditation. She says she stepped down because she knew she wasn’t going to be here to shepard UH in the next decade and she wanted the next stakeholder committed long term for the betterment of UH.
