Independent Thinker:

@186

Support uh football. Check

Support student athletes. Check

Reserve right to disagree with decisions and direction of program. Check

Won’t take crap from internet bullies. Check

You?

I’m sorry, I disagree with this self-assessment.

Independent thinking can be good in some ways but does not survive in the real world alone especially not when working with other team members on a team.

Team effort means goals must be reached with the combined effort of other team members. You are sorely mistaken if you think team work is soley based upon individual effort.

Do not fool yourself: We fans are part of this Warrior Team

As fans of our team, we have a responsibility to SET the example – to BE the example – to show how a good team works together, more so especially since we are older than our team’s players, this is an even greater responsibility!

Of course, the team’s objective is to figure out how to overcome the opponent.

This mean team players must agree to share a common purpose and follow their chosen leader, and they must support each other thru tactful means (feedback) in order to more effectively get the job done.

Especially when the team’s resources are limited, there is no time to fixate on forcing the leader(s) – or those who chose him/them for that matter – to constantly justify how or why they were chosen.

We are already well into our season so what’s the point – we need to evolve into higher beings and focus on being as successful as we can with what we have! Know the weaknesses but Focus on strengths!

We fan team players must practice the same team dynamics in order to assist the team in being successful. Because the game is so very mental and physical, it is incumbent upon the fan team – us – to provide encouragement, love, and support at all times so that the players use their heart and mind to guide their body to perform its best despite how they may actually feel.

Yes, of course we can have opinions, and yes, we can choose to say them anyway we want; however, I’m sure if you’re on the receiving end – as a player or coach – constantly hearing how you’re just not doing enough when all you’re doing is putting in extra work and working your hardest while going to school and or holding a part-time job, I can imagine would make any normal person just wanna give up.

You know, that our team hasn’t just walked off the field and given up shows me that yes, they are being coached well. (Thank you, coaches and staff; thank you, Warriors)

We fans must choose our words wisely and criticize only productively and constructively so that our team does not give up and quit!

If our team just suddenly decided to walk off that field and give up all because we lack understanding of what it takes to be supportive fans, then who’s gonna drop everything in the middle of their season to come play for us? Seriously – You? Me? Us fans? Huh – I highly doubt it 🙁

Words can hurt; we must be careful how we use them.

Together we must work hard to support the team yet independently of each other, we must decide whether our own actions are in line with the entire team effort.

Here’s an excellent example of effective and productive team work; somehow some way, we need to BE this, too 🙂 :

Spam, trolls, or pilau posts like the ones tonight. For sure they all breed ignorance. Clean it up!
