He lost more talent than he added and it showed. We’re still weak on interior defense and rebounding. Thomas and Fleming should give us a different look on both ends than we showed tonight. The positives were the half court offense was more structured there was a lot of catch and shoot opportunities and the defense created turnovers when they needed them

They normally don’t do well there but they have taken down big name programs as well. I just don’t personally don’t put much stock into pre season/exhibition games. While they say that they put the same effort into every game, I just think the approach to a regular season game that counts vs exhibition game is different. There were some years where they smoke HPU/Hilo but then struggle during the season.

Guud Luck to the Akamai one. Roll them cubes!

I heard the term, “worked like we drew it up”…I guess every play works if it’s executed as diagramed. Problem is the defense worked because it also “worked as we drew it up”…lol

Have fun today boyz and girlz.

IMUA WARRIORS!

At this point, it’s hard to say if Hawaii just plain sucks or Chaminade was really that good or something in between. I can’t say that I have seen a team like Chaminade score close to 100 points against UH in recent memory, so it’s possible that they may be that good. Then again, maybe UH was just lacking in the defense department and they didn’t shoot very well from the outside in the first half. Outside shooting is going to be a concern for UH unless someone besides Stepteau can drain 3’s with consistency. Hopefully, Fleming is coming back as they need his ability to create his own shot.

Fleming will be the deal breaker.

He has a semi-successful tenure at SMU then decides to resign after two games into a new season due to “personal reasons.” Who’s to say he won’t pick up and split again if he’s not happy with the administration, facilities and whatever else (girlfriends ?)

Besides, he is old school coaching. Today’s game requires new blood with progressive thinking, possibly younger coaches with some head coaching experience and success. The Norm Chow selection was very probably guided by big money backers and politics. Time time to start clean, Matlin!
