Lataimua is also practicing.

But the SEC beat them out. The SEC now controls the team selections for six of the “minor” bowls.

I thought I read that Lakalaka was cleared to play for this game??? Or did I just imagine that. I think we’ll need to rotate him, St. Juste, and Vele just to mix things up. Vele is a big back that has the right attitude about securing the ball. I think the fumble was just an exchange problem.

Anyways, play smart, play hard, and play like a champion today!!!!

We could have used all the backup players for this package to open the game; and mix in a few trick plays with passes downfield. Just run it for one series until they can stop it. That would boost the morale of all the backup players, who might never play in the game! It would be a lot of fun for the starters too; as well as the fans who want entertainment!!!

Coaching staff unsure how long he can play, so I am guessing Beau Reilly will start and see if the Warriors can stay in the game. I normally wouldn’t see this as a big problem because the Warriors count on an effective running game; however, Steven Lakalaka has not yet been medically cleared to play after showing signs of a concussion during the Wyoming game. So this is now a compounded problem.

The big concern is to keep Ikaika standing upright and in the game, therefore I believe that we will be running the ball more utilizing our RBs along with short, quick developing pass plays to minimize his sack exposure. TE may play a larger role this game. Linebackers will have to play tough to stop their strong running game. I look forward to a exciting hard fought game ending with a WIN! Go Bows Go!

A season high of 6 offensive plays of 20 yards or more.

4 different Warriors scoring their first career touch downs.

Notes-

San Diego running back, Pumphrey, ran for 246 yards against New Mexico last weekend. As a team San Diego ran close to 400 yards.

UH is tied for No. 6 nationally in 3-and-outs (6.0 avg. per game) and No. 11 nationally in 3rd down defense (28.7%)

On the season the percentage of rushing plays to passing plays is 50.47 to 49.53.

Opp 3D Conv % 30.67% . (this is a good stat, ranks UH around tenth nationally).

The above link gives side by side comparisons of both teams. I think it’s pretty good site. You can also find practically every type of stat on this site. The subscription price to the prediction and deeper analysis of the outcome of the game is pretty reasonable.

The next curiosity to read about the teams travel plans. Fly to LA and bus the 120 miles to San Diego (Chow says this is a good bonding experience for the player…no). Or fly straight in…yes.

Beau had been taking the reps and still is.

Is he still out with a concussion or has he been cleared yet?

Spread is at 7 points after opening at 9 1/2. I feel confident we could pull out a road win. Stay together play smart and within the system. Take what is given to us and don’t force anything like we did in Houston.
