RIP Jim Burns.
My dad was friends with the late Gov.
Use to see Jim waiting for Emmy to pick him up from work when I was picking up my wife. Always had a smile when I waved at him.
Proud SLHS alumnus.

These guys kind of put the Rock in Pride Rock.

A noble and dignified man, who was an uber presence behind the scenes of UH athletics, especially football. Specifically, he not only took interest in me, a lowly walkon, but he arranged for me to have summer jobs while I was at UH at the Family Courts as a bailiff in family courts. He is an integral part of why and how I went to law school.

Mahalo nui to a great and generous man!!!.

John Burns, passed away today. He was a huge booster of UH Athletics, Warrior football in particular. I had the honor of sitting next to him in the Chancellor’s box at Aloha stadium in 2015. He was a very humble, witty gentleman who was local to the core. My condolences to Emmy (Tomimbang), son Brandon, who used to work with my wife, and the rest of the Burns ohana.
