Iosefa is by FAR our best player. Chow has failed to recruit and struggled to coach. This season will be his last. Hopefully UH can bring in a coach that can inject some enthusiasm into our program! (Maybe JJ hey neva know!)

If it wasnt for the board of regents having a hand in hiring Evan Dobelle who had a hand in hiring Herman Frazier, we would have been in great shape. I was so happy seeing them fired, even the just past regime. I’m not saying we would be a national Top 5 team but a formidable one if June Jones were still here. Face it people, Hawaii will not hardly ever be able to consistently recruit 4 to 5 star players. The”run and shoot” can be very prolific with1-2- 3 star and project players. You just need QB’s and good O-line guys. It gives those smaller but talented players hope to play D-I with no “attitude” players-they will be @ Alabama, etc., etc. What we have now are people that have champagne aspirations with beer income, if u know what I mean.

When one player goes down an opportunity arises for the player waiting in the wings. This team has grit and will step up.

His habit of poor recruiting over time has proven itself once again at SMU. The run and shoot is not as relevant as other teams have been able to defend this offensive system. I give credit to Coach Chow and his staff for being relentless in trying to recruit good players to Hawaii. I tell you fans are fickle. You would read fans writing that JJ should run more to be more diverse. Coach Wagner should pass more instead of run. Everyone knows everyone ones business and can’t take care of their own.

There are 17 QB’s with more than 100 yards after 2 games, and a couple of those with more than 200 yards. Good fans should think twice about calling out Woolsey’s running ability as the strength that justifies not giving other QB’s a chance. I haven’t seen the practices, but will go with the coaches decisions. It’s just my tendency to think that they should not be sacrificing games in order to protect someones psyche. These are college athletes, many of whom are trying to make it to the pros. And those players are the ones that need to be allowed to lead.
