Hawaii had nothing to lose by inserting them to hit and set.

Why did the Hawaii coaches have no answers? Why didn’t Hawaii try to triple block more since the triple block was so effective for BYU? Brook, our best hitter and server, gets pulled on Fri for “struggling with his aim” against the triple block? Siki hits neg on Fri and poorly on Sat, struggles with his serve but doesn’t get subbed out for Hartley. What were the Hawaii coaches thinking? Coaching error to sub Hartley in to serve on Fri instead of replace Siki, at least in the front row, and to pull Brook. Jones should have been inserted to set also.

Said at times in practice he can be the best in the gymn. Has he forgotten how they got to be #1? Why only insert him late in the game for a serve or two. He is one of the two hardest hitters on the team. Late in the game siki doesn’t jump as high and being on the shorter side to begin with he tends to be hitting up into the block.

Hartley lit a fire for UH against Pepperdine with his hard hits and he could have done the same against BYU.

Getting all these blocks.
I am afraid HU is not as good of a team as we thought and the coaches are inadequate. I think that is about it for the season.

Can’t wait for next Saturday’s match and the opportunity to renew Rainbow Warrior volleyball season tickets. Let’s go Bows!
