I watched several SDSU highlight reels on you tube. The things that jumped out at me was the high level of intensity they played with in all phases of the game. Their culture seems to be if you’re on the field you play with the effort and attitude of an angry Chris Naeole. You finish plays and hit until you hear the whistle whether you’re on offense or defense. If you want to see some good examples of linemen and receivers blocking down field or examples of a defense swarming to the ball like a school of hungry piranhas google up you tube for SDSU football high lights.

Keep in mind this is version 6.0 of SDSU football. Their culture has evolved over time. Our culture is version 1.0 of Rolo Ball. Our coaches will need some time to evaluate the program and come up with fixes . I’m willing to wait until version 3.0 is completed before making a judgement.

Coach Rolo,
Would you consider making a call out to the 2004 Warriors to come and be on the sideline and have someone like Samson Satele be the honorary captain?

That squad started the year with a terrible lost to Florida Atlantic and then suffered blowouts to UTEP (20-51), Boise St (3-69) & Fresno St (14-70), then went on to beat Idaho, Northwestern & Michigan St to qualify & eventually beat UAB in the Hawaii Bowl.

They never gave up, they Believed!!!

One last observation from Da Road.

Football is a team game.

It was getting pretty irritating hearing a Hawaii player’s Ohana cheering whenever his name was announced on the PA…even when making a tackle 20 yards downfield!

…even as another player was down receiving medical attention.

…even as the rout was on.

Hear this a lot in HS games but “Come on, man!” 👿

When the HC moves a HS LB to the RB group you know the options have become limited.

Any plays which could possibly keep the other team off balance?

Ya! If we had DeMarco Murray as our only available RB!

Agree with Hawaii925. Has Norm Chow come back? We seem to go Lakalaka up the middle, read option, third down pass to Kemp. Punt. Where are the screen plays, the shovel pass, the flat passes to the backs – get guys with speed like Harris out in space. We are being out coached and out schemed on offense. Here’s a question: are we considering a new offensive coordinator?

I would agree with the “no celebrations” part to include the pre-game “routine” that is becoming an embarrassing caricature especially on road game blow-outs.

(I can only imagine how the stereotype held in the Zebras’ minds is perpetuated upon seeing a staged, violent [in their eyes] group performance just before the game. No can expect anything but a long stare after any Hawaii player scores and celebrates in the EZ.)

Nuff already…just shut up and play!

We seem three and out fairly often in the last few games. Could the other teams have already figured out that its Lakalaka up the middle, DSJ on delayed handoff with Dru Brown on a fake handoff and double team Kemp always? Any plays which could possibly keep the other team off balance?
