I’m sure you’ll have players who prefer a 4-3 vs a 3-4 type of “D” and vice versa.

So the question becomes who is a good up and coming position coach who wants to make his mark as a DC at the price UH can afford ????? Just thinking out loud here but here’s a name to throw out…Cal Lee…

Assistants have to look out for themselves (and families) as they have no job security. On the other hand promising coaches leaving UH for bigger programs has been an ongoing challenge since the Dave Holmes and Larry Price era (remember when Dom Capers was Prices’ DB coach back in the 70s?). Maybe (?) speaks well for Chow’s hiring of assistants, but not good for continuity, not to mention the timing. Potential defensive recruits want to know who their position coaches will be, IMHO.
