Even when we suck in Louisville the fans are there!

Lets hope this week is a productive week for the football team.

Wait? it’s ok for McMuffin who changed nothing on offense or defense (unlike Norm Chow and Thom Kaumeyer) to have less than 8 win seasons after inheriting a (sugar bowl program not team, which means Hawaii has national exposure for recruiting, national media and Big Daddy J.J. left talent on the roster and we know it’s true because as soon as the most of J.J. recruits grad after 2010 season we got 2011 which should have been another great season in the WAC but we got MisMackin instead). because of injuries every year to O line, 4 star QB, WR, D line over 4 years, right? You are two faced, because the injury bug to the positions like the 4 Star QB Taylor Graham plus more are happening to Chow teams in 2012 and 2013, while doing a complete overhaul to the program, but you give Mcmuffin a pass for injures and not changing a thing or not overhauling a thing but ride J.J. coat tails and get over paid $1.1 million a year.

Before comparing McMuffin to Chow this early in his term at head coach, we should compare Junes Jones record to McMuffins? And then ask question is what did UH and Hawaii get from McMuffin for $5.5 million in salary he got paid? Because McMuffin was the highest paid coach between June Jones, Norm Chow and himself. Besides being a sub par recruiter and getting out coached what did UH and Hawaii get for $5.5 million? Please Jonj tell me and the Hawaii faithful what we all got from the highest paid coach McMackin? I tell you what we got for $5.5 million, NO return to the Sugar Bowl, NO undefeated season, the down fall of the program and down fall of national reputation in the media by blown out by a terrible Notre Dame team at Aloha Stadium and losing to bottom feeders at Aloha Stadium, down fall in recruiting. So please Mack lovers tell enlighten me on what Hawaii got from McMuffin that was worth $5.5 million a salary that is double that of June Jones and Norm Chow?

It was that bad. There was also a huge brawl between local and mainland players during that time. One player drove his truck and tore up the grass field after getting kicked off the team.

Who can forget the “Iwalani High” incident when UH made a half-hearted effort to recruit Joe Igber from Iolani. Igber, to my undertanding, wanted to stay home and play for UH, but the staff at the time didn’t evaluate him very highly.

Chow and his staff are making headway into convincing more local blue chips to stay home and play for UH. No better place for high school interior linemen than here in the 50th State, IMHO. Problem is that many BCS schools are aware of that, too.

It will be interesting to see how players such as Dejon Allen and John Wa’a develop over the course of their redshirt seasons. Hopefully, they can become contributors on the O-line next year.

You’re probably right. But can the Athletic Department wait that long? Can the fans? I mean, the fans CAN wait it out but will they buy tickets while waiting?

He’ll be in there eventually

Unfortunately, it will be a long shot unless he figures it out quickly. Yes recruiting is part of the equation but that means you’re only as good as your recruits. But we all acknowledge that Hawaii is tougher to recruit for than, say USC or Notre Dame. But looking at programs that have turned around, it is the coaches that have made the difference. Beeman and Arnold are examples. For Chow, he has all the credentials except that of a head coaching record. He has to figure out how to win with what he’s got.

here is class #1 for the poly football hof:
From an initial group of 200 candidates, members of the selection committee narrowed it down to seven members. Among them; LB, Kurt Gouveia (Hawaiian ancestry); C, Olin Kreutz (Hawaiian ancestry); C, Kevin Mawae (Hawaiian ancestry); LB, Tiaina “Junior” Seau (Samoan ancestry); QB, Jack Thompson (Samoan ancestry); HB, Herman Wedemeyer (Hawaiian ancestry), and Coach, Ken Niumatalolo (Samoan ancestry).

where’s jesse?

bill walsh said Jesse would have been a perennial pro-bowler had he not changed positions.

4 super bowl rings.

kinda seems there was a boycott of the UH (kenny doesnt count) players.

turns out to be another bogus hof just the the avca.
