old-fut days – still remember all the tanks that rumbled their way on our roads and the crews of the B-25 planes around us, the search lites lighting up the sky for the ack-ack guns about 40 yards from our house, and a vague memory of our white German shepherd that was shot to death by a certain Army Air force Captain when it strayed unto their base

seems we all like Mello and his versatility to compete for different positions such as rush end, blocking back, line backer, special teams, etc.

will UH accept his application so he can walk-on to the football team?

I think Seth is a good size to be a fullback. Good blocking technique and pretty good feet.

Before I leave the “old fut discussion” one of the best things when we moved here was going to the Palace Theater and then crossing the street to the Dairyman (I think was this before Meadow Gold) Drive-in for their peach Melba.

Remember the building where City Mill Kaimuki is now located. When I moved here, we went shopping there. The market was called PX and had one chocolate chip cookie baking machine at the entrance. They had to change the name because the military said could not use the name. They went out and I think IGA came in before P&P. There was also a slot car operation in the building and then Chico’s. Below there was Rainbow’s Pool Hall but I cannot remember the name of the drive in that was up there.

You can tell how old people are by how they remember old buildings that have changed residents over time. So, that building is at least 50 years old.

Just watched the tape of Seth Mello. This young man with good weight put on that frame could be a player very easily…..very impressed even though his size contributed to not getting placed…..he is relentless….I wish him the best and hope he makes it here
